Sapporo Snow Festival Opens on the 4th, Welcoming Tourists with Large-Scale Snow Sculptures

The 77th Sapporo Snow Festival will open on the 4th in Sapporo City, Hokkaido.
This year, approximately 200 snow and ice sculptures of various sizes will be exhibited at three venues throughout the city, including Odori Park.
The primary attraction consists of large-scale snow sculptures exceeding 15 meters in height, which intricately reproduce historical buildings such as the Sapporo Clock Tower and the Former Hokkaido Government Office Building.
The festival will be held for eight days until the 11th, with an anticipated attendance of approximately 2.5 million visitors.
Evening events will feature illumination and projection mapping, creating an enchanting atmosphere.
Additionally, a new demonstration corner utilizing AI technology for snow sculpture creation will be established this year.
Sapporo City intends to promote winter tourism and stimulate the local economy through the snow festival.
